This was very, very well put! -"And if a team has to argue over a penalty to win a match, instead of putting away the abundant chances in open play, the victory is slighted in my opinion".Couldn't agree more. I admire Wenger for his footballing philosophy and his acheivements without having te backing of Russian Billionaire. But please, enough with the whining. Take the CL final in 2006 - he moaned and moaned about an offside goal (that wasn't) yet ignored the fact that the Arsenal goal came from a fk awarded for a dive.

He blots what would otherwise be a flawless copybook.

But arsenal play such beautiful football, and their goals are such wonderul works of art. Surely they count as double don’t they??!! And by that token they won the game!!

This is what Arsene whinger, most arsenal fans, and the British media combined seem to think.

What a load of rubbish, and your fair assessment is thus doubly refreshing.

The truth: Wenger, Fabregas, Gallas et al don’t have the bottle for a fight. Liverpool scored 5 goals over two games. They rode their luck but defended fabulously and attacked with purpose. They thoroughly deserved to win.
