It must be terrible for this £50,000 a week professional to hear the people who paid his wages for so long take the piss out of him. Redknapp said: "Nobody likes being called filthy names and hearing other filthy abuse. It's not right. What has that got to do with coming to a game? For a start there are kids there."

That's right Harry, because professional footballers are superb role models for kids aren't they? And you're right, nobody likes being called names. But then again, not many of us have the luxury of being in a high paid profession where you don't have to take responsibility for anything.

Witness last November's England crunch match against Croatia on a wet Wednesday night. You could see all that Campbell, Lampard and Gerrard wanted to do was to get the match over with and go back to their million pound mansions.

OK Sol, they're chanting that you're gay and that you indulge in homosexual activities. Is that really 'filthy'? Just grow up and recognise just how much these people put into the game that has made you a very wealthy man.

i agree as well, i attended the first game that sol played against his old club spurs as an arsenal player .
the spurs fans were appalling even the two fans that i attended the game with (spurs fans) were appalled by the extent of abuse. He did not murder anyone or abuse children he chose to play for a club that offered him better prospects. The problem is that a minority of fans and to an extent some english people (chav culture) are morons and no nothing but hate and violence. Ban these idiots from football and ship them off to IRAQ ...actually thats unfair to IRAQI's ......

I agree. In New York, the Knicks basketball team have taken the extraordinary measure of kicking people out of the a game for even the most harmless of verbal jaunts near the bench. Ludicrous. Hey, at least England is not Italy - they have problems. Finally people are finally doing something about it. Luca Toni is on record as saying playing in German is so much more pleasurable. A loss is not followed by insane attacks by rabid fans.

I think it was the Lazio game where the Ultras were not allowed in and their tickets were given to children. They want to give the game back to the families - like we see in England and Spain. The transfer of stadium power from the municipality to the teams is necessary.
